Government selects sinister new privacy commissioner

The government has selected a sinister new privacy commissioner who established controversial information-sharing arrangements with the United States that the previous privacy commissioner criticized. His name is Daniel Therien.

On Friday, a group of privacy experts and advocates sent the government a letter asking it to withdraw Daniel Therrien’s nomination, saying he “lacks the perspective and experience necessary to immediately tackle Canada’s many privacy problems.”
